SPRING has Sprung!!!!

No matter what the experts say, Spring is already here! Every year our family visits the Arboretum, and to me, at least, it signals the beginning of spring! It is like a cleansing to my soul - the cold and dust of winter is washed away by the colors, fragrance, and sunshine of the gorgeous flowers! I just love it. And, judging from the kids' reactions, they enjoy it, too (though they mostly enjoy the running and rolling in the green lush grass). This year was the 25th Anniversary of Dallas Blooms, so they had all kinds of cool things at the park. They also had several storybook playhouses that the kids could explore (about 15), and while we were exploring one of them, we saw Laura Bush. She came by to see one of the houses that apparently was designed by someone she knew. Richard and I thought it was cool to see someone famous. The kids, however, preferred the petting zoo over Mrs. Bush! LOL Kids are really funny. (You can see her in the background of the picture of the kids with the animals)

Anyway, it was a beautiful start to spring. The colors were just beautiful. I wish I could go by every afternoon - it would be good therapy after long workdays!

Sick of Being Sick!

I am really tired of being sick all the time! I went to the doctor today for my 2 week followup, and I am still coughing up a storm! She said she thought that I might have whooping cough. They tried to do a blood test, but they couldn't get blood out of my arm.........and then I passed out from feeling crappy! So, they gave up. I have to drink a ton of water and go back tomorrow sometime.

Anyway, she said I was fine to go to work and that I wasn't really contagious--all the kids have the DTAP vaccine. And, Richard hasn't gotten it. I already did the round of antibiotics/medicine that is supposed to shorten it, though she didn't know I had it at the time - she prescribed it for something else. So, I went to work, sat in my office, tried not to faint anymore, and somehow made it through the day. Needless to say, I left after the bell, came home, went straight to sleep, and slept until dinner. I am just sick of being sick!!!! Maybe she'll write me a prescription for a long vacation somewhere sunny so I can breathe good fresh air and get well----wouldn't that be nice!?!??
